Bids were received for the 5 bid packages that were advertised for the Phase 2 project of the Environmental Education Center. Bid Package 1 (Site Prep and Concrete): Absolute Concrete $421,088, Jensen Builders $361,000, Bid Package 2 (Site Utilities): Con-Struct $136,765, Bid Package 3 (Building Shell): Edge Commercial $350,269, Keystone Construction Services $500,000, Bid Package 4 (Plumbing and Mechanical): Warnick Inc, $160,440, All Iowa Mechanical $169,900, Reliable 1, $195,121.08, Modern Piping198,575, Proctor Corporation, $209,578, Dickerson Mechanical, $245,000, and Pleva Mechanical, $267,773, and Bid Package 5 (Electrical): Sully Electric and Controls $66,258.95, Integrity Electric LLC $72,602, and $72,695 Van Maanen Electric. All of the low bids together ($1,030,092) came in well over the estimated budget for the project ($700,000). Board members voted to reject all bids and to work with Studio Melee to simplify the project and put it out for rebid as soon as possible for Fall 2025, or likely, Spring 2026 construction.

NOTICE OF LETTING

Notice is hereby given that bids for the Jasper County Conservation GEISLER-PENQUITE LAND STEWARDSHIP LAB will be
accepted for review and consideration by the Jasper County Conservation (JCC) Board, pursuant to Iowa Code Chapter 26.
Sealed bid proposals will be received by JCC until 3:00pm (Central Time) on July 10, 2025, at the Jasper County Conservation
office at 1030 W 2nd Street S, Newton, IA 50208, or via email to kvanzante@jasperia.org. Bid proposals will not be read aloud.
Bid proposals will be considered and acted on by the JCC Board at their scheduled meeting at 8:30am on July 15, 2025 (or at
such later time and place as may then be fixed), in the JCC Office at 1030 W 2nd Street S, Newton, IA 50208.
