Every year, the Jasper County Board of Supervisors appoints numerous county residents to boards, commissions, committees, and councils. The board welcomes all people to apply without regard to sex, ethnicity, or place of residence in the county.

Animal Review Board
An animal review board is created for the sole purpose of hearing and deciding administrative appeals regarding dangerous animals, potentially dangerous dogs, or dangerous dogs. Board members serve a 2-year term. Meetings are held as necessary for appeals to animal confiscations.

Board of Adjustment
Jasper County Board of Adjustment meetings are held as needed for requested variances by property owners within Jasper County, Iowa. Meetings are held at 6 p.m. at the Jasper County EOC located at 1030 W. 2nd St. S, Newton, Iowa. Board of Adjustment serves 5-year terms. If appointed to replace a member in the middle of a term, the appointee will complete the remainder of the term.
